Randolph
County Advocate
 
 
The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois is seeking a full-time, 40-hour per week, Advocate to operate our Randolph County Office. This position is responsible for providing services to victims of domestic violence and their children including legal advocacy and assistance with filing for orders of protection, individual counseling, information, referrals and support. Position is also responsible for representing the agency at related community events/meetings and assisting with outreach.
 
Position works with clients throughout Randolph County, but is based in our Chester, Illinois office. Regular schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm, but requires some flexibility in day/time requirements to meet the demands of the position, including occasional evening/weekend hours. Starting salary: $12-$14 per hour.
 
A minimum of 4 years of related education/experience is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, counseling/advocacy training and experience, ability to work with diverse populations, ability to work independently and a commitment to ending domestic violence is also required.

Administrative Assistant
 
 
The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Office Manager and handling the clerical matters of the agency. Efficient office management skills and excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required. Knowledge of Raisers Edge/donor database software preferred. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Regular hours for the position are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, but occasional evening/weekend coverage is required. Local travel necessary, reliable transportation required.
 
High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 4 years of related education/experience required. Excellent administrative skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently; ability to work with a broad range of staff, volunteers and the community at large; and demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and follow through with project assignments also required. Starting Salary: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour.

Child and Family Advocate
 
 
The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois is seeking a full-time, 40-hour per week, Child and Family Advocate. This position is responsible for providing services to victims of domestic violence and their children residing in the emergency shelter. Services include intake, assessment, individual and group counseling, advocacy, information, referrals and support. Position is also responsible for representing the agency at related community events/meetings and assisting with outreach/fundraising efforts.
 
Position requires some flexibility in day/time requirements to meet the demands of the position, including two evenings per week. Salary range: $25,000-30,000 per year.
 
BA/BS plus a minimum of 2 years of related experience required. Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, or closely related field preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, counseling/advocacy training and experience, ability to work with diverse populations, ability to work independently and demonstrated commitment to ending violence against women required. Assistant Manager

 
 
The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois is seeking a part-time, 10-hour per week, Assistant Manager for our resale shop. This position is responsible for providing customer service, receiving donations, cash handling, and assisting the Manager to provide a safe, clean, well-maintained environment for staff,
volunteers and customers.
 
Position works three (3) days per week. Flexible day/time requirements to meet the demands of the position, including Saturday hours required.
Starting wage: $8.00 - $9.00 per hour.
 
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED plus 2 years of related experience required. Excellent customer service skills including prior supervisory experience preferred. Ability to work with diverse populations, ability to work independently and demonstrated commitment to the agency’s mission is also required.
