The Violence Prevention Center Shelter Shop is a resale
shop that sells pre-owned clothing, furniture, and household items in good condition.
Because the Shelter Shop is operated primarily by volunteers, the proceeds from the shop

Clients of VPC who are in need of emergency clothing and/or other goods the Shelter Shop has in stock can visit the shop for needed items free of charge.
The Shelter Shop is always in need of volunteers and items for re-sale. Anyone wishing to donate their time or used items in good condition is asked to please call the Shelter Shop at (618) 234-4704.

Raise money for the Violence Prevention Center at no cost to you! All you have to do is something you already do everyday. Visit www.goodsearch.com, a search engine powered by Yahoo. Once you are there you can chose the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois as your charity of choice. Then, every time you use that search engine money is donated to the VPC! You only have to select the VPC one time, no matter how many searches you do. Make it your home page and tell your friends. You are going to search the Internet anyway right? Might as well donate to a worthy cause while you do! You can even track how much the VPC has raised from this wonderful tool. So please help us out and pass the word. Thanks!
The annual drive for Federal Government employees to sign up for automatic or one-time contributions is underway. The Combined Federal Campaign is the Federal Government's equivalent to the United Way Campaign. Federal employees can designate their contributions to the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois by entering the appropriate code on the CFC form. That code is 63233. Thank you so much for your contiuing support!
When you donate your car to the Violence Prevention Center not only do you receive a tax donation slip, you also get the satisfaction of knowing you helped the women and children in your own neighborhood and community who are suffering from domestic violence.
The VPC will be more than happy to take your car as a donation, even if it isn’t in “mint” condition. To donate your car you must provide a good title in your name. This donation entitles you to report up to $500 on your taxes if you itemize. 100% of the money raised from the sale goes directly to the VPC. There are no handling charges involved.
Catch a break on your taxes while helping those in need at the same time!
For more information about donating your car please contact Bob Elder at 618-973-8200.
