The Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois is an approved continuing education sponsor offering qualifying domestic violence education for licensed professionals in Illinois.

Who Can Earn CE?

VPC offers continuing education opportunities for licensed professionals who want to strengthen their understanding of domestic violence while meeting professional development requirements.
 

  • Social Workers & Professional Counselors
    Qualifying VPC trainings offer continuing education for Illinois LSWs, LCSWs, LPCs, and LCPCs.

    VPC is an IDFPR-approved Social Work Continuing Education Sponsor, License #159.011776. Illinois Professional Counselor rules also recognize approved Social Work CE Sponsors as continuing education providers for LPCs and LCPCs.

     

  • Beauty Professionals
    VPC is an approved Illinois Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Education Sponsor, license #290.010239, providing the state-required domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education for qualifying beauty professionals.

 

CE-Eligible Trainings

VPC offers continuing education through several domestic violence trainings designed to strengthen professional knowledge and support survivor-centered practice. CE availability varies by course and professional license.

  • PurpleOne | 4 CE Hours
    An interactive training that equips participants to recognize the signs and dynamics of domestic violence, respond safely and compassionately, and connect survivors with appropriate resources.

  • Taking Action | 1 CE Hour
    A one-hour domestic violence awareness training designed for beauty professionals to recognize common signs and forms of abuse, understand barriers survivors face, respond safely to disclosures, and connect clients with domestic violence resources

     

  • Domestic Violence and Healthcare Professionals | 1 CE Hour
    A healthcare-focused training exploring the health impacts of domestic violence and practical strategies for recognizing abuse, responding to disclosures, documenting concerns, and connecting patients with support. 

     

  • Additional CE Opportunities
    Additional VPC trainings may be eligible for continuing education credit based on the course content, length, and professional requirements. Contact VPC to learn about current CE opportunities or to discuss continuing education for your organization.

How Continuing Education Works
Participants seeking continuing education credit must complete the full training and any attendance, evaluation, or assessment requirements associated with the course. After successful completion, eligible participants will receive a certificate documenting the program and continuing education hours earned.

Continuing education availability may vary by course and profession. Please review the individual training description or contact VPC before registering if you have any questions about eligibility.
