A Note of Gratitude

As I prepare to retire from my role at the Violence Prevention Center, I find myself reflecting on the more than 14 years spent working alongside an extraordinary community of people committed to making a difference.

Serving in this role has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. Every day, I have witnessed the compassion, dedication, and resilience of our staff, volunteers, partners, and supporters. Together, we have worked toward a shared mission—to provide safety, support, and hope to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.

To our staff: thank you for your unwavering commitment to the people we serve. The work you do requires strength, patience, and compassion, and I have been continually inspired by your dedication. It has been a privilege to work beside you and to see firsthand the care you bring to this mission every day.

To our Board of Directors, community partners, funders, and supporters: thank you for believing in this work and standing with us. Your trust and collaboration have helped build a stronger network of support for survivors in our community.

And to the many individuals whose lives have intersected with this agency over the years—thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you. Your courage and resilience are the true inspiration behind everything we do.

While I am stepping away from my role, I am pleased to share that the Board of Directors has selected Courtney Kampwerth as the new Executive Director following an extensive interview process. Courtney brings strong leadership and dedication to the mission. I am confident in the future of the Violence Prevention Center and the leadership and team who will continue this important work. The mission remains strong, and the community surrounding it is remarkable.

On a personal note, I am deeply grateful for the friendships, partnerships, and shared purpose that have grown over the years. This work has meant so much to me, and I will always carry these experiences and relationships with me.

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being part of this journey.
