Summer should feel like summer!
For most kids, summer means freedom, lazy mornings, splash pads, ice cream after dinner, and adventures with friends. For children staying in the Violence Prevention Center's Emergency Shelter, summer is hard. Summer means no school, no daily friend to play with, no routine, no activities.
Every Child Deserves A Real Summer!
You can bring the joy of summer to families who need it most — the kind of joy that creates real memories, even in the middle of uncertainty.
Give By the Moment:
-
$25 provides rainy-day crafts and activities.
-
$35 covers a picnic lunch for a family outing.
-
$40 supplies a splash pad essentials, sunscreen and gear.
-
$50 covers admission to local favorites like Sky Zone, Skate City, The Edge, or The Lincoln.
Gift cards are also a meaningful way to give. They let families choose their own moments, a spontaneous ice cream run, a fast food lunch on the way to the park, a family afternoon at a local attraction. We're gratefully accepting:
-
Fast food restaurants ($15–$25 increments)
-
Ice cream shops ($10–$20 increments)
-
Family activity destinations like Sky Zone, Skate City, The Edge, the Lincoln, and more
Prefer to shop directly? Browse our Amazon Summer Wish List and send something straight to the families who need it.
However you choose to give, your generosity puts a moment of joy in a child's summer and that's something they'll carry with them long after the season ends.
Thank You!
